so I'm studying Development Economics this sem and basically we've learned about how poverty exists in a lot of countries and how inequality just seems to be increasing especially in Africa due to lack of basic needs and education...

A frd of mine recently told me that she's sponsoring a child thru World Vision and spent a few hrs looking for a 'cute' child to sponsor! I was like omg! what about all those kids that don't fit under the cute category? So I felt compelled to check out the website myself and sponsor the most un-cutest kid...there's even a "longest waiting for sponsorship" child... awwww...he's 12 and lives in Bangladesh, I wonder how many years he's been waiting for sponsorship

Because Africa has been experiencing negative eco growth, I would probably sponsor a child from there.  Wish I could afford sponsoring 2 kids, maybe after I start full time work so I could sponsor that Bangladesh kid and also an African girl.  Yup, I think sponsoring a child would definately be on my to do list once I start full time work next year..yay!  We can even correspond with the kids and their families and see how they are progressing, we receive photos of them too (one reason why my frd also preferred a cute kid hahaha).  Feels good to know that I will be working for the govt and in essence, the Australian community and will also be helping others abroad...sucha warm fuzzy feeling

Hmmm...I had a pretty extraordinary w/e...did stuff I would neva contemplate to do or expect myself to do...but is probably quite normal to most pplz :D

o1 ::  I dled Ragnarok on Sat for Chucky and now I'm actually gaming! Can u believe? I dun believe!! Still a noob though, feelin pretty lost lol.

o2 :: I shouted dinner on Sat for my parents @ Newtown for some good ol Thai and it was sorta Joy's belated bday dinner.  I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to ask my p's for an away trip...we negotiated that if I was to get a D average with at least one HD, that I would be able to get that trip! Dad knows I'm not THAT smart, so he agreed willingly.

o3 :: I was the chaperone for Nik and her two frdz to Aussie Stadium for the Roosters vs. Sharks game today.  I have never in my life watched a footy game let alone march my ass over to Surry Hills to watch a real live game.  I didnt even know what pplz wear to these things.  I only went cos they've been planning this rugby day out for a while and if they had no 'old person' wif them, they were not allowed to go.  Am i nice or what?  Wellz all I can say is that pplz arnd me were eating chips and pies and drinking VB; everyone was dressed in teams colours and had these massive flags; I think my sister & co. had more fun retaliating to this group of 10yr old boys who were screaming out "Roosters suck"...Apparently the Roosters beat the odds and won 38-32. Oh yeah, highlight of the day, this grp of guyz sitting adjacent to us was so euphoric that they were beating the back of the chairs in front of them like bongo drums it actually broke! they even tried to cover it up with a paper bag lol.  There was also this one middle aged dude who was yelling sooo loud his face turned into a tomato.

o4 :: Came home from the game and checked my results, OMG I am on a D average!!! OMG OMG OMG!! Thiis calls for a celebration!! lol, although I am still waiting for IBUS results to pop out, I am soooo stoked!!  I'm in like euphoric disbelief!! So my new stuvac approach did work! yippee!! *claps*

so many chances...yet i feel like there are just as many misses...i feel like i am grasping the opportunity before it rides away from me...

Listen out to how he says 'eagle' hehe sounds funny...

If there's ANY dvd you should rent these holz, grab The Corporation which is a documentary about the immense power corporations have in this world and the negative externalities they impose on their surroundings.  Like, it REALLY opens up your eyes.  If you liked Farenheit 911, this doc would definately not disappoint you!  I'll never drink American milk ever.  Should we trust FoxNews? I am sooo psyched to work for the public sector! :D

I seem to have a knack for buying shoes that last no longer than a month.

I was walking around city today and I thought my kitten heel had fallen off, I checked and it hadn't but it felt like it had cos I sorta stumbled WHILST crossing the road :S and I knew a MILLION people saw me look unco...I guess in some way this was inevitable.  Like two weeks ago during my BodyStep class, a lady in front of me had one of her shoes' soles peeling off so it was kinda flapping whilst she was exercising...rofl...i found that hilarious lol. Ten mins later and she realised so she took both shoes off and continued the class wif no shoes on hahaha.

Now I didn't watch much soccer before World Cup came along.  But I have seen like footy games on tv where if the refs weren't sure if it was a try, then they would watch it on instant video replay and judge it from there.  What's with soccer's tight grip on conventional ways of refereeing? I don't understand why the refs can't judge the game on instant video replay?? Isn't that more fair? Wouldn't it be more accurate than the naked eye??

End of exams is near.  I NEED a procrastination remedy!!! Something that will stop me from lounging around doing nothing when I have two of the most hardest subjects left...

After exams there will be IMPERIAL II@Space this thursday (29th)...20bucks for prepaid or 25@door, see me for tix :D  Lets dance like we've never danced before, drink like we've never drunk before and party cos exams are OVER! Semester is OVER! Release that party animal inside of you.

Haha has anyone ever seen that Simpsons episode where Marge writes a book about Homer and Flanders and herself in a love triangle? And Lisa reads the book and then it shows her conscience, jealousy saying "OMG I can't believe Mom wrote a book before I did" [Jealousy] and then "We should be proud of her" [Conscience] and then you see her libido strung up in chains and in a box "Let me out! Sex, drugs and rock and roll!" and then conscience says "We're not letting you out till we're 16".

I'm already sick of studying and exams haven't started yet. ><

This stuvac, I've tried a new approach to studying.  Fingers crossed it will be more effective than other sems lol.  I reckon HD pplz spend the same amt of time studying as normal uni students do, but there must be a difference in techniques or something like that.  I've yet to figure it out.  But I'm sure they've either got:
a) more brain space
b) no annoying siblings
c) superior studying techniques
d) HD pills
e) above average concentration span

Stuvac appears to be the most anti-social wk of the entire year.  Having said that I am so :D that its over hehe.  Spending cold winter days geeking and warming your brain up for the final exams was exhilarating at first, but now the novelty has faded away and reality sinks in that exams are here.  Five exams within 2 weeks.  There better be an awesome party to go to after exams are all over ;)

It only took me an hr and a half to create a new layout for my online journal. It's pretty basic compared to what you see out there, but for me I like the whole simplicity thing with details that make it unique. Making this new layout kinda gave me a breath of fresh air. I love looking at it haha. I'm like nurturing it, checking back at it momentarily, making any changes that need to be done. Hehe. The latest entry I wrote is probably the most correct-spelling piece of work I have ever written for a while. I also used some big words that I know the meaning of, however may have used in the wrong context. Oh well, I am here to learn ♥

What goes up must come down -- doesn't only refer to gravity.  So strange how quickly situations change.  A slight moment of unhappiness can unfold into long term bliss.  A couple delirious hours can lead to the misery of others.

Its very interesting to see people in their element.  You tend to see a part of them you've never known existed, and you feel a somewhat awkward admiration of what they can do. 

Who knew that growing up can be so difficult.  Who knew that learning from things can have a massive impact in your life and others.  Who knew that sometimes, people can't see the change.

I hope I'm not going backwards.

one of my goals to be fulfilled this summer is to try and cook a new dish once a wk...this week I cooked chicken katsudon :D

after a swim session at usyd, the closest azn grocery i could think of would have been market city...so i grabbed all the ingredients (dashi and mirin where the hardest to find since my japanese readings skills have deteriorated vastly after quitting in yr 8)...the inspiration to cook chicken katsudon was from HC on nye...mmm...

altho mine didnt turn out to LOOK appetising, it tasted gud ;) hehe.

if you ever get those really massif, painful red pimples there's this awesome remedy that you can try:

when you feel like the pimple is about to come because that area of skin hurts, then start getting icecubes and putting it on that area till the whole icecube melts.  do this once/twice a day, depending on how self conscious u are. hehe.

in less than 5 dayz, the coldness will stop the pimple from growing and the painful area will subside within a couple of days :D

Trust me on this one, it works! only if u start 'icecubing' it when u can feel it coming.  I've had two massif painful pimples in my life (like the ones that really hurt) and there is proof of the first one on my drivers license haha...but the second one is less obvious and is already going away...YAY!

I did my first step class today, it was great! It really worked my legs for about an hr! (imagine walking up stairs for an hr!) so im expecting def soreness tmr...hehe! felt gud, havn't felt endorphins for a while now lol...and even during our recovery set which was like situps and pushups, i was dying...hehe looking forward to next class tho!  finally reaping advantages of working at the pool YAY! so thats one goal this wk that has been achieved...9 more to accomplish...
