March 27 Things to do, people to see, places to go...With so many things on my mind, and so little time to daydream about it, thought I'd just note it down because I will forget:
~ Take a makeup course
~ Buy those shoes at shoobiz wen i get my next pay
~ Pimp up my myspace page
~ Take more fotos! March 05 outraged >.<OMG
My first day at Parra and the trains fark up on me. No harsh feeling towards train-luving pplz and to make u's feel better, my bus was late too. So I guess im outraged at the woeful state of the public transport on rainy days. But what do i expect really??? So my 7.15 bus comes late. Dominoe effect leads me to miss my 7.30 train. The 7.40 train was late. I get to redfern around 7.55ish. My first day at redfern gets me confused as to what platform I should be on, since Parra is a rather popular suburb a few trains pass dat way. I missed two trains that were leaving on other platforms >.< ARGH. Redfern isnt exactly tourist-frdly nor first-time-commuters-frdly. Everybody runs off the train, up the stairs, and down a random platform, I thought 'hey they mite be goin to parra' so I run down that platform with them realising the train goes to Hornsby. At least the train to Parra was an express, I was still 25 mins late :S But didnt feel so bad cos I saw Carlo, Leng and Vanessa at the lobby too hehe. Coming back home, caught the train from Parra to Redfern wif no trouble. Easy. Got off at Redfern and it was pelting, trust the rain to go hard when I'm gettin off the train. Then I see a train leaving for Marrickville, I hop on and its like squishy. Squishy on a humid day. EWW. I walk upstairs and stand where at least I dont havta smell some1 else's B.O. After 10mins of the train just standing there at Redfern, the speaker goes "this train is terminating at Redfern". WTF?! Masses of pplz hop off and the next train is an express. Beautiful...if only I lived in Campsie. Making a quick decision, I decide to walk to uni to catch my luvly dependable 423. So i had to get off at Redfern and walk all the way to the bus stop outside wentworth. In my heels. In the rain. U know wot i was thinking? I didnt recognise any of the uni kids face. Wow, have I really grown up? lol.
I come to the bus stop and thought yay i made it. I see a bus - its a 423, doors close and Im still outside getting wet. Dammit >< Lucky 2 mins later an L23 comes PHEW! And Antoinette was on it too...I could vent out my frustration on public transport onto her haha. I was also thinking, I don't care how slow buses are, I luv my buses!!
Tmr is another day at Parra...do i havta do this all over again for 3 mths :S:S:S This time I'm setting my alarm to 6.20, 10 mins earlier :) Meanwhile, I havent shopped at Parra yet, I barely have time! Lunch is only an hr and its not sucha close walk to the mall :( March 03 Beaten at my own gameOMG What the heck is the go wif TFN withholding?!?! Grrrr I made about 20 bux in interest for one mth on my savings account and then they withhold 10 bux...dats HALF of what i earned!! OMG...it peeves me that banks aren't open on weekends! >< Meanwhile, I start at Parra next wk...i gotta be in the office by 8.30 which means I gotta catch the 7.29 train at marrickville which means i gotta get up at 6.30...at least we get an hr lunch yayyy at the really big parra mall yayyy!! But i will miss the city :( Strangely enough on weekends I dont get urges to shop as much as before...its more like urges to sleep zzzzzzzz but its too stinking hot to be doin anything outside anywayz :P I posted up pics of the 'grad gang' here: http://usydedu.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2027275&l=52b9c&id=219001195 Its not everyone, but only the cool ones and the all-stars :P hehe November 06 Are u excited? Im excited. *arms flailing*Have you ever been so excited over something that you randomly fall over things or keep hitting things or knocking things over, or generally become more unco?
That's me. I got the official papers from ATO today...and the grad program sounds SOOO hectic...well its good timing actually cos im getting sick of looking at international macro. Basically the program will consist of work placements whilst undertaking a Cert IV on government. No idea what that is. They listed subjects I will be doing that will have assessments, assignments, exams *GULP* and one of them was accounting. *plummets into academic hell* Oh GOSHHHHHH. I have avoided acct for two years and now its come back to haunt me. It's ok, I still have my acct1a/b textbook. I'll also be doing tax subs which I've only done as topics within eco subs let alone a whole subject.
Two things got me excited. 1) I get a day off during the working wk to 'study/work on ass/technical training'. 2) My first paycheck will go into my bank account on the 22nd Feb 07. Yayyyy hehe.
It's sooo exciting. Somethin to liven up exam period. One drawback is writing that letter of rejection/decline to ABS. >.< Wish I had a PA to do that for me. October 29 stuvac...wot does it mean to u?stuvac is an interesting time of the year.
ppl get upto the zany-est things.
or the not-so-zany.
ppl get really stressed and its funny to watch them get stressed.
sharing a desk wif a 2nd yr psych/sociology student is by near impossible to manage if you knew how many essays they had to do within a semester...it gets worse during stuvac since you gotta study too and you can't cos of the desk hog. sunday called for a day out to the library. i like sunday library time...not so many ppl go cos only geeks go on sunday ;) surprisingly, my studying efficiency is like 10 times better at fisher than anywhere else so i got my work done and headed off to the ct for sum quick shopping fixes.
i bought my customary pre-shopping easyway drink and went to look for a belt at TGV. I found a nice thin simple one and this nice blouse also caught my eye. I reluctantly had to throw away my drink before I tried on the blouse -- it sucked cos i really like those pearls and for once the guy put in HEAPS and i just had to let them go...the blouse didnt fit nicely argh. I hate it when it looks good on the hanger but then looks shit when I try it on lol.
anyhoo there was still time before i met up wif the girls for a sushi train dinner so i checked out those fob shops on george st near the cinemas. i experienced the weirdest thing there. too bad i forgot wot the shop was called...but it looked nice ya know...as soon as i walked in, one of the girls smiled and greeted me. that was normal. i browsed one side and noticed the mannequin had this really cute grey cotton tube top and so i went onto the otherside looking for it. then that same sales girl came and stood really close to me and then i looked at her and she like giggled and then like pranced backwards so i cud browse the other side of the store. freaky. so instead of browsing the other side, i went back the same side i came from and looked at the shoes. very cute mind u. and then she's eagle-eyeing me again. 'feel free to try them on'. too much sale assisting is a turnoff...because im sucha nice person, instead of walking str8 out of the shop and hurting her feelings, i slowly walk towards the direction of the door but appear to look fascinated by the shoes...
im 2 days behind stuvac schedule...arghhh.
to get back into the spirit of stuvac, here is what coleen would like like if she were a geek... October 28 Things to do AFTER final exams...I can't stop thinking about life after Nov 17...after my last exam...the end of my tertiary education (for now..) and so to avoid me forgetting all the things I have in mind, I better make a list...

In the meantime, its back to int'l macro... October 26 Goodbye Fyshwick, Hellooo sydneyy!Well technically I haven't been to Fyshwick...but there was a big chance I was gonna be living in Canberra next year... ATO rang me today and I just had to share this little piece of news with everyone.. I'M NOT GOING TO CANBERRA !!! I'm gonna be a tax woman in the ATO grad program next yr YAY in SYDNEY! YAY!!! I don't know if ATO will provide a better program than ABS for an aspiring economist like me who one day dreams to work at the RBA, maybe not chairman but vice-chairwoman. But at least I'll be close to the ppl I luv most !!! YAYYY! Good to know where I'll be sleeping next year. October 22 world visionso I'm studying Development Economics this sem and basically we've learned about how poverty exists in a lot of countries and how inequality just seems to be increasing especially in Africa due to lack of basic needs and education... A frd of mine recently told me that she's sponsoring a child thru World Vision and spent a few hrs looking for a 'cute' child to sponsor! I was like omg! what about all those kids that don't fit under the cute category? So I felt compelled to check out the website myself and sponsor the most un-cutest kid...there's even a "longest waiting for sponsorship" child... awwww...he's 12 and lives in Bangladesh, I wonder how many years he's been waiting for sponsorship Because Africa has been experiencing negative eco growth, I would probably sponsor a child from there. Wish I could afford sponsoring 2 kids, maybe after I start full time work so I could sponsor that Bangladesh kid and also an African girl. Yup, I think sponsoring a child would definately be on my to do list once I start full time work next year..yay! We can even correspond with the kids and their families and see how they are progressing, we receive photos of them too (one reason why my frd also preferred a cute kid hahaha). Feels good to know that I will be working for the govt and in essence, the Australian community and will also be helping others abroad...sucha warm fuzzy feeling August 06 geek alert! geek alert! OMG why is there soooooo much reading for this semesters subjects?! *faints* A good example: For International Risk Management, one reading out of 5 readings just for ONE week, had 300 pages worth of words!! OMG. *faints again* August 02 Double Trouble Can you believe that VSA (Viets Student Ass) is having a cruise on the SAME night, Friday 25th August (note that down in your diaries!!), as the AYBC (Azn Youth Babes Club) + Wasabi + Chopsticks 'End of Winter Cruise'...ours will be soooo much better than VSAs, cos we got THE Glass Island boat, we got DJ Mookz and we got the pizza, not to mention the better-looking, sexy n stylish guyz and chicks as well ;) hehe. The funny thing is, I think VSA's cruise will be leaving off King St Wharf @ 7pm as well!! Wouldn't people like get mixed up on which boat they are REALLY meant to be going on? If this happens to you, walk urself over to the beautiful crystal glass looking boat :P U'll feel like ur floating on water whilst on the boat and have a 360 degree view of darling harbour - provides a choice on which part of the boat you'd like to spew over when sea sickness hits you and that 4th schooner of beer aint settling well in ur tummy...hehe So today was Re-Orientation Day...I joined two clubs wifout even having to stand up from my AYBC stall hehe. SoulXpress which is the hip-hop rnb club and Westies which I think has social stuff for those living in the West. Joining more societies I guess was on my 'Things to do before I graduate' list. My days at uni are numbered. So I gotta make them happy days :D July 16 am I shocked or AM i shocked?!Hmmm...I had a pretty extraordinary w/e...did stuff I would neva
contemplate to do or expect myself to do...but is probably quite normal
to most pplz :D o1 :: I dled Ragnarok on Sat for Chucky and now I'm actually gaming! Can u believe? I dun believe!! Still a noob though, feelin pretty lost lol. o2 :: I shouted dinner on Sat for my parents @ Newtown for some good ol Thai and it was sorta Joy's belated bday dinner. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to ask my p's for an away trip...we negotiated that if I was to get a D average with at least one HD, that I would be able to get that trip! Dad knows I'm not THAT smart, so he agreed willingly. o3 :: I was the chaperone for Nik and her two frdz to Aussie Stadium for the Roosters vs. Sharks game today. I have never in my life watched a footy game let alone march my ass over to Surry Hills to watch a real live game. I didnt even know what pplz wear to these things. I only went cos they've been planning this rugby day out for a while and if they had no 'old person' wif them, they were not allowed to go. Am i nice or what? Wellz all I can say is that pplz arnd me were eating chips and pies and drinking VB; everyone was dressed in teams colours and had these massive flags; I think my sister & co. had more fun retaliating to this group of 10yr old boys who were screaming out "Roosters suck"...Apparently the Roosters beat the odds and won 38-32. Oh yeah, highlight of the day, this grp of guyz sitting adjacent to us was so euphoric that they were beating the back of the chairs in front of them like bongo drums it actually broke! they even tried to cover it up with a paper bag lol. There was also this one middle aged dude who was yelling sooo loud his face turned into a tomato. o4 :: Came home from the game and checked my results, OMG I am on a D average!!! OMG OMG OMG!! Thiis calls for a celebration!! lol, although I am still waiting for IBUS results to pop out, I am soooo stoked!! I'm in like euphoric disbelief!! So my new stuvac approach did work! yippee!! *claps* July 13 what are the odds?so many chances...yet i feel like there are just as many misses...i
feel like i am grasping the opportunity before it rides away from me... July 07 hairy inspirationGonna get a haircut/trim on saturday cos everytime I look at the mirror
I feel a hobo is looking right back at me lol. I've been browsing
Jap hairstyles sites and having no idea how to read japanese, came
across a pretty mad site :D I found this foto that looks like an azn version of Rachel Bilson... July 01 The World's Greatest and the CorporationIf there's ANY song that you should download these holz, its The World's Greatest by R Kelly!!
It was a cool-down song in my step class today, release no. 49.
It's like the best 'pick-me-up' song wheneva you feel down, or just a
good song to listen to when you feel appreciative :D I wonder if they
have this song at k? lol. Listen out to how he says 'eagle' hehe sounds
funny... If there's ANY dvd you should rent these holz, grab The Corporation which is a documentary about the immense power corporations have in this world and the negative externalities they impose on their surroundings. Like, it REALLY opens up your eyes. If you liked Farenheit 911, this doc would definately not disappoint you! I'll never drink American milk ever. Should we trust FoxNews? I am sooo psyched to work for the public sector! :D June 27 how embarrassing with instant video replayI seem to have a knack for buying shoes that last no longer than a month. I was walking around city today and I thought my kitten heel had fallen off, I checked and it hadn't but it felt like it had cos I sorta stumbled WHILST crossing the road :S and I knew a MILLION people saw me look unco...I guess in some way this was inevitable. Like two weeks ago during my BodyStep class, a lady in front of me had one of her shoes' soles peeling off so it was kinda flapping whilst she was exercising...rofl...i found that hilarious lol. Ten mins later and she realised so she took both shoes off and continued the class wif no shoes on hahaha. Now I didn't watch much soccer before World Cup came along. But I have seen like footy games on tv where if the refs weren't sure if it was a try, then they would watch it on instant video replay and judge it from there. What's with soccer's tight grip on conventional ways of refereeing? I don't understand why the refs can't judge the game on instant video replay?? Isn't that more fair? Wouldn't it be more accurate than the naked eye?? June 26 Remedy for ProcrastinationEnd of exams is near. I NEED a procrastination remedy!!!
Something that will stop me from lounging around doing nothing when I
have two of the most hardest subjects left... After exams there will be IMPERIAL II@Space this thursday (29th)...20bucks for prepaid or 25@door, see me for tix :D Lets dance like we've never danced before, drink like we've never drunk before and party cos exams are OVER! Semester is OVER! Release that party animal inside of you. Haha has anyone ever seen that Simpsons episode where Marge writes a book about Homer and Flanders and herself in a love triangle? And Lisa reads the book and then it shows her conscience, jealousy saying "OMG I can't believe Mom wrote a book before I did" [Jealousy] and then "We should be proud of her" [Conscience] and then you see her libido strung up in chains and in a box "Let me out! Sex, drugs and rock and roll!" and then conscience says "We're not letting you out till we're 16". June 22 music confessionsBoybands still exist.
Westlife is having their first proper concert here finally after waiting like 7 years!! lol. 100 bucks to see them at Acer Arena formerly known as Superdome. I wanna go just for the sake of going but then, I haven't listened to their ballads for AGEZ. I'll also be surrounded by screaming girls and their parents -- even my parents like Westlife lol. On the otherhand I haven't been to a concert for over a year...
Wellz I've got 2 exams down, so far they've been easier than what I expected, but then everyone thinks that as well. Three more to go. Three killer ones to go. :S
June 18 Tis the night before exam wk...I'm already sick of studying and exams haven't started yet. >< GOOD LUCK WITH EXAMS EVERYONE :) May 28 Long time no blogHmmm I should have been out at Bondi mkts today, but things just didnt
go my way...so I'm reviving my blog haha and I came across some girl's
blog that was linked from Anita's blog and I found this interesting
excerpt. I know it kinda seems childish and stereotypical but as
I read it, it seemed funny cos bits of it are true :) and I am
fascinated at interactions between guy n girl. тнєяє αяє αℓωαуѕ 2 ѕι∂єѕ тσ єνєяу ѕтσяу... guys get mad easily... girls get sad easily... guys can forget, but cannot forgive... girls can forgive, but cannot forget... guys care the most about the quantity of love... girls care the most about the quality of love... guys break-up when they feel love from another girl... girls break-up when they feel the feeling of separation from her man... guys feel curiosity towards all girls... girls feel curiosity towards guys who are interested in her... when guys are heart broken, they try to forget about the girl by going out with another girl.. when girls are heart broken, they try to find his characteristics in another guy... guys wish to be her first love... girls wish to be his last love.. January 19 blogging makes a comeback...It only took me an hr and a half to create a new layout for my online
journal. It's pretty basic compared to what you see out there, but for
me I like the whole simplicity thing with details that make it unique.
Making this new layout kinda gave me a breath of fresh air. I love
looking at it haha. I'm like nurturing it, checking back at it
momentarily, making any changes that need to be done. Hehe. If you want
the url, just ask :D Those of you who know my diaryland url, thats the online journal that I am speaking of. The latest entry I wrote is probably the most correct-spelling piece of work I have ever written for a while. I also used some big words that I know the meaning of, however may have used in the wrong context. Oh well, I am here to learn ♥ |
